))}Homebuyer education is commonly required when you use a low-down-payment conventional loan — especially HomeReady or Home Possible with 3% down (LTV above 95%). For our down payment assistance programs, Homebuyer Education (HBE) is required if all borrowers are first-time homebuyers.
At least one occupying borrower usually needs to finish the course and upload a completion certificate before clear-to-close. Most online courses take a few hours and can be completed on your schedule.
